General Tire Altimax vs GT Evertrek

Can anyone tell me if the General Tire Altimax RT and HP tires are the same as the Evertrek RT and HP tires carried by Canadian Tire? I have checked a number of sites and cannot find a definitive answer, although many people have said they are the same ?? The Altimax winter tires are great so I would like to stick with that line....the Alt. tires compare favourably to other name brand tires on Tire Rack

I don't know whether to buy RT or HP: safety and noise are my main concerns as will be a new driver and an 18 month old using my Yaris!

Would the General Exclaim UHP be an appropriate tire for a Yaris?? Would it give better traction/braking than the Altimax/Evertrek RT and HP?

Thanks for any feedback!

The UHP should out-perform as it is Ultra High Performance tire, and highly rated in the Tire Rack reviews. Of course a stickier tire will not have the life expectancy of the touring models, and would likely be louder too.
I'm planning on UHP's for my TRDed sedan.

Thanks for the info. I got the Evertrek RT: seemed like a decent tire. Tread far better that the Potenza OE. Couldn't get the HP in 185/60/15. Exclaim looked like it would be a bit noisy and felt noticeably softer. Quite pleased with the Rt tuis far: quiet, good ride: the car feels like it's been turbo charged now that the winter tires are off!
