How much for an air filter?
Hello everyone,
I have been in contact with a local car servicing place and asked them how much it would cost to change my air filter in my car. They gave me a price of 20 dollars. Does that seem too high? I also am going to ask if they can show me how to do it so I would be able to do it myself. I figure for 20 bucks I can get the new air filter and learn how to change it. |

Yes, you can pick one up at a Toyota dealership for about $15 (I just got one last month) and it takes about 30 seconds to replace it. No tools required, just pop the clips off, remove the old one and install the new one in its place. Of course, toss the old one in the garbage; but it's really that simple...
Cheers! M2

Or go to any auto parts store. I always go with STP because it's only $12 (Part # SA10190)

Changing the filter is real simple. I am sure a friend or co-worker could show you how. Takes 2 minutes.

Toyota Canada lists changing the cabin air filter as $50 in the maintenance schedule. I assume that includes labour

I just picked up some from rockauto.com. I ordered 5 of the AC Delco filters for ~$7.50 ea after shipping. When I received them I was surprised to see that they are actually Toyota filters made by Denso in the USA complete with the new part no., 17801-0T030, stamped on them.
