Yaris Engine - Toyota Yaris Forums

Just bought my '07 Yaris a few days ago. Curious about the powerplant. It is a 1.5L. My '04 Corolla has a 1.8L. They look very similar. Are they from the same engine family? I.E. 1.5 is a 1.8 with smaller bores and shorter stroke? Chris

the 1.5, from what i've been told at the dealerships, is the same engine that was in the echo and was the gas engine in the Prius as of last year. the 2007 Prius now has the 1.8 which I imagine is the very same engine in the Corolla. :)
