Help! 175/65R15?
So someone decided to slash my tire last night, where I had parked on the street. I inspected it thoroughly and found a slit mark that is consistent with a blade piercing, so then, after mounting on a spare and having gone to work, I went to a local tire joint -- with can't beat deals -- to get a price, they told me me 123$ lowest and that the size is odd.
I purchased my yaris about two weeks ago, so I haven't had the opportunity to review common dimensions for these cars, but mine turned out to be 175/R65/15, the manual says that two sizes are 185/60R15 and 175/65/R14. I don't know how this car ended up with such odd size, I had purchased it from a used dealer, clean record, one hub-cup was missing, so they bought me a new aftermarket replica set without the logo. I might as well just buy a set of 15" alloys for about 500-600, rather than pay premium for the size that I have. Still in disbelief, I started measuring the wheel diameter, and the hub cap, they both came to a little bit over 16" how is this possible, am I not measuring correctly by measuring the outer most edge diameter on the wheel and the hub cap? The tire clearly says 15. Help!
