Stuck Back Wheel

Hello to the community!

I have a very old Toyota Yaris (1999 model, purchased in 2000), that did not give me any troubles until this year. I use to do Toyota service once per year, usually.

Anyhow, since the beginning of January, due to snow, I did not use the car and left it parked. Every day I turned on the engine for a few minutes, just in case.

In the past two days I tried moving the car again, but whenever I try to accelerate, it feels like one of the back wheels (or both, difficult to say, but it seems to be it is the rear left one) seems stuck, as if the handbrake was on. Also, the handbrake seems to be very very hard when I try to pull it up, so I suppose it is not able to fully disengage itself.

Is there something I can do myself before calling a (very expensive here in ICeland) two truck? Anything I could try? My finances are terrible right now and it is difficult to find the hundreds of dollars it will cost to handle the matter.

Thanks everybody!

I suggest jacking up the rear of the car, releasing the handbrake and try to spin the wheel yourself. It shouldn't give too much resistance, but if it does then something is definitely wrong back there.

do what Betrivent said, if the wheels dont move than more than likely your handbrake linkages got some rust on them when you left in on through the snow
