Are the full range class D amps being made today comparable to the class AB amps to be used in a 4 speaker setup with no subwoofer. Is one more preferable to the other as far as sound quality all specs being equal.

what head unit and speaker you have or plan buying?

sony 700HD hu, mirus front, stock in rear for now.. looking at Powerbass XAX4160FD Mini Full Range Class D Amplifier

which specs are in play after install hu or amps specs. also if the hu and amp are approximately at the same level will one hear the difference in sound iow will the sound get better with the amp install or do you have to get an amp significantly better than the specs of the hu.

In a lot of cases, your quality of sound will depend greatly on the quality of your install. Induced RF noise is a big enemy.
