I'm in the club!

9 months of anticipation... And my car is back in my hands :D

For those who missed it, killed my old engine last year when my super custom CAI sucked up some water... Swapped it for a 4A-GE turbo, and it's taken a while to get everything sorted out... but the results, well... see for yourself:

Some pics:

Tried to keep the cage simple and light, yet strong enough. Also quite stealthy :D

It bolts into the stock seatbelt mounts

Getting in and out is not much harder... and yes, new seats are on the to-do list

Yes, I like gauges, so what?

Looks can be deceiving :)

Yes, gotta tighten the nut behind the wheel.. But the crappy thing is, the small track that's near home has now been razed to make space for a parking lot :( So gotta drive about 2 hours to the track at Pattaya. It's a proper racetrack, but pretty far!

Another C50, I don't know if my original one was a lemon, or I just abused it too much, but this one is holding up fine so far.

ahhaha nope, actually still the old ones with the edges... The VHB tape is holding on real well now, and they follow the shape of the lens well enough :)

I guess looks CAN be deceiving then...
You should really get the new ones on. I love your car, but that small detail gets my OCD going...

Hahaha sorry amigo :D They're still not painted, that's what's held me back... but a paint job is on the to-do list, lots of nicks and scratches, and the workshop spilling something on the car (A-pillar has a bald spot). But I'll wait till all potentially paint-damaging mods are done, and the interior stripped, so they can paint that too ;)

Great that you are back bud...I can only imagine what 9 months was like as I was only off the road with mine for 6/7 weeks. I am somewhat dreading this winter when mine goes offline again, but in all honesty I am always nervous driving mine during the winter with the crappy conditions and risks involved. Looks like you have issues with breaking lose between shifts or is that just how the driver was working things?
