Axelback or catback ?! - Toyota Yaris Forums

Hey guys I have a question for you... I want to buy an exhaust system for my Yaris HB 2008 and I dont know what to take between AxelBack and Catback

I want (for sure) the cheapest and the best for the performance/sound. I'm a real BASS lover and low sound so I would love to have an exhaust that have a really beautiful sound... I know that Magnaflow make some really good exhaust system, DC sports too but they are really expansive !! Do you have some warning/tricks/help for me ??

I'll edit my post with a video of what kind of sound I want ^^

Only catback is for the sedan by magnaflow ...

Cheaper to go custom....just get res-back as after the resonator the piping shrinks from 2" to 1.75"

There is no aftermarket cat-back exhaust for the liftback, because there is no flange to bolt to after the cat. We carry all brands of axle-back exhausts, almost always in stock, and happy to ship to Canada.

1. Buy a Megan Racing axle-back, great sound, low price.
2. Have a muffler shop make a mid-pipe for you.
3. KEEP THE OLD PARTS they cut off, so you can put it back to stock if needed.

3dr/5dr's are the same fit

or $400 for my never-seen-a-winter headerback thats 2.25", high flow cat, resonator and borla muffler and tip...and im in canada...though, not entirely local

OBX makes the only production headerback and you can have it on ebay for like $225 shipped. Might be more to Canada though.

^ FYI: It comes with it's own axle-back muffler. You cannot use any other company's muffler with the OBX midpipe (meaning, it won't just bolt on). I know of two customers that did not like the sound, and had to further modify the exhaust to be acceptable.

You are telling me that i'll probably need to change the muffler if I choose the MeganRacing axelback ?

He is telling you if you get it and don't like the sound you are stuck unless you take it to a shop and they custom fab it for you but you would not be able to just replace sections of it with other aftermarket brands. I hear it is raspy too, something to think about.

I have the trd axleback for sedans and i think it's one of the deepest tones for Yaris axlebacks. I would think the hatch trd axleback would be almost the same, although some of the bends are different.
