New springs/struts/shocks...fricken unbelievable feel

Just installed. Last Sunday Tokico reds, set to 2 above full hardness, and Eibach Pro springs and TRD sway bar, all from being full stock.

After about a week of city and highway driving, all I have to say is ...the ride is INCREDIBLE!

Thanks to Garm and Jeff at MI for all the suggestions and help and the forum here for the DIY on the front and rear spring install.

The handling is amazing and although I will get an alignment soon, the alignment felt better after than before.

I am tempted to soften the reds a little more to see how soft they will go, but I am getting so used to the responsiveness, hard to give it up.

Just wanted to share.

Next mods...brakes!

DeathBeard, did you ever set them to full soft? If so, how close to stock did they feel, if not softer than stock?

Excellent! I have overstock on the HTS Reds, really great deals right now, but you have to call for the best price, I can't publicly advertise them.

That's encouraging. I figured these would last and last, but that is why I upgraded from stock at 100K miles.

Ok, I finally got a little tired of running around on 2 turns less than full hard because every little expansion joint in the road felt like an earthquake, so I turned it down to 7 less than full hard which is 1/2 turn before full soft and it is a Cadillac ride now. I think I will end up putting it around 4.5 turns from full hard so you get the responsiveness needed without the earthquakes.

I run them 4.5 turns from hard in the front and 3.5 turns from hard in the rear and it rides nice. I have TRD springs and TRD rear swaybar.

I may try those settings. I am really enjoying the softer than stock feel and with the TRD sway bar, I do have the support when needed when cornering.

Just curious why you would only buy fronts? Is it that you will keep the stock rears?

No, I already did the back with blues and MR springs.

When I ordered the set it was advertised as "In Stock" but never got the front shocks.

Will use the reds in the front for now and keep the rear as it is.

It's hard to say, the combination with the MR springs makes the rear "bouncy".

But it could be because I removed the rear seats, the spare tire and everything else I could in the back of the car.

for a DD is ok i guess.

Ok bouncy means stiff...makes sense as most who has gotten the blues say it is a stiffer ride than stock.
