Salvage Yaris purchase, please advise ASAP

I found a '08 Yaris hatch S with 45K salvage repair.
Will attach a pic of the damage before repair.

Seller is asking about $2k less than book due to salvage that he says
is cosmetic. Not knowing the frame structure of the Yaris I am wondering if anyone here who knows these cars well thinks this accident may have caused structural issues or what a quality repair may have entailed vs a cheap fix.

Please advise ASAP

Thanks

If the frame has not been touched, this still involves cutting open the whole section and welding a new section back in place.

I completely cut up one that I parted out, and based on doing so, the damage was non structural. The insurance company would have totaled it though because of the expense to restore it. If you want to be absolutely sure you would look underneath as well as pop off the plastic interior panels behind the door to see.

You would have to remove the back seat to remove them, but that is not that hard to do.

I wouldn't pay more than $5000 for one with a salvage title, even with that low of mileage.

I'd pay 5300 all day for that. I would first closely inspect the front engine bay to make sure no damage happened up front also that he is trying to cover up. Also, drive it. Get it up to about 75 mph and make sure it is not pulling one way or the other. That could be an indication of a bent frame.

But yeah, I'd buy it if it was in good shape.

Or the car being out of alignment after the impact.
