AEM F/IC Software/Firmware question
Alright, I've got a few questions regarding the F/IC.
1. When I downloaded the software from AEM, I clicked the FIC 4 software but it installed FIC 8 v1.06. I assume this is what it's supposed to do? 2. Where do you download firmware for this? I've searched the AEM forums and various other forums but can't find a repository to download firmwares anywhere. I've heard that z107 is the best to use for the Yaris but I only have q107 in the directory where the software installed. 3. Does this work with Windows 8.1? I tried following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Zwn...bAee2F&index=4 to get the firmware version currently installed but it gets to this point and hangs: It never actually shows me the firmware. Both of my laptops are Win8.1, as are all 3 of my desktops. I can probably scrounge a Win7 box from work somewhere, but would prefer it work on one of my personal devices. Thanks in advance!

You most likely actually have a FIC6 (part number 30-191x), not a FIC4.
Here is the link for the FIC6 software version 3.0.7a: http://www.aemelectronics.com/files/...C-6_3.0.7a.exe For the firmware, z107 seems to work the best with our cars. Z104, z107 and z110 are your options. I can't find the firmware files on AEM's forum since they did the upgrade, but you can grab z107 from this thread on Micro Image: http://microimageonline.com/forums/s...rmware-version As for Win8, I can't recall if I have tried my talking to the FIC with any of my Win8 machines, but in a worst case, if you have win8 pro, you can run an XP or Win7 virtual machine (I have to do that with the BMW diag software for my Mini).

Ah ok, It says "30-1913 FIC DODGE" on the box. I wasn't sure how to determine which one I had. I just assumed 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl.
The link for the firmware on microimage's page is dead (you can download the zip file but it's a 0kb empty zip). Fortunately, after installing the proper version of the software I was able to determine that it is already running Z107, so I should be good to go in that department :) It appears the software does indeed work on Windows 8 as well, so that's also a pleasant bonus. I hope to install this soon. I was going to last month but family issues arose and then I was fiddling with my truck some more to make sure everything was ok with it for the coming winter.

Very good. I would just stick with the z107. Some prefer z104, but I never had any issues with z107. 30-1913 is a FIC6.
