Yaris paint fading near front bumper

Hi, the paint near my front bumper is fading away badly. I was wondering if others were going through the same issues or if it was a well-known issue. I was considering getting it fixed because that's how bad it looks but if it's too expensive than I'll have to live with it. Thanks in advance.

That.. is a sign of a bad refinish.

If you want to get it refinished cheap, take it to your local trades school and the autobody guys will do it for you for class practice, plus it's way cheaper than going to a proper body shop.

What would be some reasons for a refinish in the first place? Accident? Thanks for the tip with local trade schools.

Accident would really be the only reason to refinish the bumper cover - unless you're me and you can't stand the bumper looking so peppered. But if it was refinished because somebody didn't like the way it looked, they would have definitely made sure to do a better job that than.

I would bring it to a professional body shop. Will cost you more but you can be certain about the result.

I've had the front and rear bumpers re-sprayed on my Yaris due to clear coat fading/cracking. Back in the day I remember threads about the paint on these cars not being of the highest quality. Seems to stick better to the metal than plastic. I had a professional body shop do the work for me and it's held up great. Wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be, but I've had the shop do work for me in the past and have a decent relationship with the owner.

The nose of my sedan is quite sandblasted. The lower the worse it appears. Mostly clear coat damage it would seem.
