Micro Image armrest reupholster
Hey guys -
After several years of faithful service, the leather (faux leather?) on my Micro Image armrest was flaking off and looking tired. I recently swapped out the stock shift nob and boot. I though it would be cool if the armrest matched and have been pricing it since. My bro-in-law found a shop near his place that was willing to do it for $30. Got it in yesterday and couldn't be happier with it. I think I'm going to go back and have them wrap the steering wheel to match. Just for kicks I'm going to get a quote on doing the seats to match, with a slightly sportier shape. I'm a fan of mods that look like they could have come from the factory, so I'd go for a Honda Civic/Accord shape with black leather/suede mix and a touch of blue stitching. Your thoughts/feedback are always welcome. I know, I know, I need a carwash. Last edited by ern-diz; 11-19-2015 at 04:53 PM. Reason: Updated pic |

Thanks, Kimona.
Thanks a lot. I feel the MI armrest was worth the $70 or so bucks, but with how thin the top is, the heat and cold eventually gets to it. I thought $30 for suede with blue stitching was a steal. Way cheaper than getting the factory cloth part for $125. I also like the height and storage capacity of the Micro Image armrest more than the stock one. |
