need help for weird request
I'm gonna buy a name brand 2DIN dvd player. Have thought anout it alot and think I may have a way to deter theft. I was gonna pain stakingly paint it black to give a OEM look, but what to know if I can buy or get made little toyota stickers like that are on the stock deck to perhaps deter a thief. I know it is a going on a limb, but it sounds reasonable to help minimize a loss. Comments are welcomed, thanks

If a thief thought it was Toyota specific he may leave it. I think it's a good idea but have no info on little tiny Toyota stickers.

Is there any system out there that can make your unit partially, or fully disabled when you are parked in a bad area? |

Ops, I agree. The longer I own the car the more I like the color. The best part about the Yaris is every time I stop people want to ask me what it is, and how many MPG's it gets. They are not that common here and I guess I get no grief (like some mention) driving it as I am a middle age guy.

In my old S-10 I took the factory deck, pulled the face off, glued the knobs and buttons back onto it, then put a hommade bracket on the back and put it on top of the aftermarket headunit whenever i parked my car.

The crappier looking the stereo the better... but stay fac-turd-ry looking so some crackhead doesn't see "JVC" and bust your window. Even a crappy aftermarket headunit with a name brand has percieved value to the desperate!

I guess I may change strategies then. I choose not to get tint, rims or anything flashy except the JDM tails to not draw to much attention, but I guess a dvd is a dvd right to a theif. I did like the suggestion of ripping the stock deck face off and using it as a dumby plate when not in the car. I wonder how hard it would be?
