My New Shark Fin

So i just got my new shark fin in the mail via http://www.visualgarage.com/home.html

I am very pleased with the look and delivery of this product. I got mine in about a week and the company custom paints it for you to match your car's color code. This mod cost me $71 after shipping. I do not notice any difference in my radio reception, but this was purchased purely for looks :) It was very easy to install (it comes with directions). It has a self adhesive that is completely reversable if you want to remove it later and go back to the original antenna. I thought it wasn't going to be very secure, but the adhesive is very strong if you apply it right. Here are some pictures. tell me what you think!

and before anyone says anything, yes i know, i need a drop and when i get the money, it will eventually happen

hey thanks for puttin that up. i have a blazing blue myself and tryin to figure out what kind f antenna to get for it. I thought about shark fin but I've heard that reception gets worse from people so I'm tryin' to see all my options. Anywho, I was curious as to how a shark fin would look on a blazing blue.. thanks for showing it off!

I've had my sharkfin for about 6 months. Radio reception is only affected when I'm about 50 miles outside the city... there are bigger gaps in radio coverage between cities. But in and around town, there's absolutely no problem at all.

Looks good, if I didn't have the antenna built into the back winow glass, I'd do something similar, but maybe on the trunk like a BMW 3 series

well, my fave radio station.. there are certain places on my trip where it'd get staticy with the ugly antenna.. and it annoys me to pieces. so I don't think I want to risk seeing what a shark fin will make that area sound like.. and that area.. you're always stopped in so yup.. it drives me nuts hehe

u need a drop... (Just Kidding!)

it's very sleek, nice -- more like a dolphin fin than a shark!

Hey I've seen that look somewhere...Looks good! Congrats

Radio? What is that? j/k Yeah...cds,mp3,ipod,video,usb, etc. is what I use...I sorta don't listen to radio

As for reception, yes it does get affected but it depends on where you're located I guess. If I could describe it better, I'd say reception is not as consistant(spelling?) I'm sure there are ways to boost the signal but since I don't listen to it, I didn't care to try to find out .

Yeah i dont really notice the radio because to be honest i have listened to it maybe once since i got my car but it does seem a little fuzzier. i listen to my ipod and cds and thats it, so that part doesnt bother me. But i could see how losing reception would be a good reason not to get one, if your main source for music is your radio. I am overall very pleased with the look of my car , and i now call it my little fish car

My fin shot my reception all to hell. I used to be able to get stations from as far away as 90 miles, and now I am stuck to stations within in 50 mi. radius. Nearly cut my reception in half. I'm actually thinking about putting the stock antenna back on. Until them, I'm looking for other options (like the lexus stub that seesm to fit as well)

/uber late edit

bear in mind that I live in illinois too, the land here is *flat*. I hate to think what this would do with any hilly terrain

I don't listen to the radio but I think I'll stick with my S2000 until I can find a Lexus antenna
