Wheel Offsets
Has anyone here mounted wheels on the Yaris (hatch or sedan) that have different Front / Rear offsets?
I'm considering a set of 17x7 WORK wheels, and WORK's matching chart indicates that the Front offset should be +42, Rear +32. My Yaris current has 17x7 Konig wheels on, and the offset is +42 all around. Yaris is also lowered with TRD Springs (Eibach Pro Kit) with a 1.2" drop all around. The rear wheels appear to be running a negative camber now. Is WORK's suggestion for a different Rear offset intended to keep the rear wheels in a near positive camber?

Offset doe's not effect camber.
The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. The offset can be one of three types. Zero Offset The hub mounting surface is even with the centerline of the wheel. Positive The hub mounting surface is toward the front or wheel side of the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars and newer rear drive cars. Negative The hub mounting surface is toward the back or brake side of the wheels centerline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative offset. If the offset of the wheel is not correct for the car, the handling can be adversely affected. When the width of the wheel changes, the offset also changes numerically. If the offset were to stay the same while you added width, the additional width would be split evenly between the inside and outside. So by putting 32 offset in the rear and 42 in the front, all four tires will be flush with the fenders as the rears tires sit a little furthur in from the factory. I personally would stick with all four wheels the same but of course it's up to you. |

It will just pust the rear wheels out furthur, and not really allow you to rotate tires.
If you were really gonna go this route might as well get wider rear wheels and tires like the VW guys. |

Please don't get wider rear wheels on a FWD car, it looks ricey IMHO.
Of course, it's your car so do what you want. RWD guys already make fun of FWD enough. |

You can use spacer on the rears and keep the same offset all around.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I was confused when I referred to WORK's matching chart as it suggests different offsets for the front and rear wheels. I'll keep the above in mind when I get my next set of wheels. My Konigs look fine at +42 all around, but I was concerned with possible issues with running the same offset on all four wheels vs. different offsets front/rear.
