What will fit in a 5 door hatch Yaris?
We're deciding between the hatch yaris and prius. no dealer near us has the hatch yaris in stock. Can anyone tell me how much stuff you can get in the yaris? does the back seat fold flat? Does the front passenger seat fold flat? Can you get a 5 ft long dresser in it with back seat down? Thank for any help compairing interior size!!

Yep, the 5- and 3-door hatches' wheelbases are the same size; it's just the door lengths that are different...

Lol. Well I had my Yaris since yesterday... But I know a $5.00 snow brush from walmart will fit in there at least. LMFAO.

Oh, man.
I HAD to respond to this after the last road trip we took. Here's what was in the Yaris: -3 people, one of which sat on the 40 half of the 60/40 split (60 half was down) -one double bass (as in the kind jazzers have to stand to play) -one small amp for said bass (I think it had a 10" speaker) -one electric guitar -one small amp for said guitar (a 1X12" combo, so not THAT small) -one suitcase with pedals for said guitar (approx 22"X16"X6") -two air mattresses -three backpacks (with clothes, toothbrushes, etc.) -three laptop bags -one LCD projector -two blankets -three pillows I think that's it. Man it was TIGHT in there. We had to remove the spare tire in order to fit one of the air mattresses in its place. But that being said, everyone was relatively comfortable (as comfortable as you can be without being able to recline your seat for a nap). |

I stuffed an AE86 rear JDM bumper into my 3 door hatch once.

I witnessed a middle aged woman argue with Best Buy employees for about 45 minutes because they told her that her new washing machine wouldn't fit in her Prius. She was LIVID. Her best supporting statement was "But I have a Prius!" |

It is amazing what will fit. However, on moving day using a Yaris is like taking a knife to a gun fight.

You know when I first read the title to this... well, yeah, I came up with my prick answer:
"Anything that will fit into a 3 door hatchback Yaris!" But... I'm not that much of a prick. I can attest that if you need to move a 42" plasma tv in the box, and you can't transport it laying flat because you'll run the risk of cracking the glass, it will fit in the back, diagonally, if you cut the corner off the box to deal with that pesky "the roof curves in the back" thing. (Phew, that's one long sentence!)

I think the more appropriate question is, what *won't* fit in a hatch Yaris? ;)
Pretty sure an elephant won't, unless it's a really small one.

I have had a 47" TV in box so about 55" box length, with the hatch fully closed and 3 people in the car... (3 door hatch) dont ask how but it was a grand clown car effect.
