Just from a safety point of view I hope you're going to test the strength of the setup. For a 100mph car crash its been estimated that a driver experiences anything between 30-100Gs deceleration forces, forces which are concentrated on the attachment points of the harness bars.
For such a safety device it should first and foremost do what its supposed to do. Aesthetics are nice to have, but secondary.
