I cleaned mine first too, but It must have been a connection problem within the switch or worn parts because it didn't help. Disconnect your battery and pull the OCV then give it a good hose down with some throttle body cleaner, move the internals back and forth(you can clearly see the moving parts when it's out) to make sure you get all the gunk out.
