Wouldn't it be easier to take a honda fit HPD intake manifold and modify it to fit a yaris?
Both engines have about the same airflow requirements with the fit having more aggressive cams and a slightly higher rev limit.

I think the HPD manifold would experience some hood clearance issues as most of it is on top of the engine...

The engines are pretty similar in displacement and horsepower. Honda's being a 109HP 1.5L.

Yeah, I had looked at some old specs for an earlier year.

For 2012, they're:

117 hp @ 6,600 rpm; 106 ft lb of torque @ 4,800 rpm

But that extra power comes at the cost of some gas mileage at an EPA rated 27 city, 35 highway... as compared to the 2012 Yaris at 33 city 38 highway.

Since you guys are still waiting for Garm's results, here's the video of the tooter manifold dyno run to pacify you for a little bit...

Tooter, have you blasted and/or coated your manifold yet?

I started blasting one manifold so far, but need more beads. By the time they make it into all of the corners of the cabinet, there aren't enough to be picked up from the bottom of the V bin!

I already ordered more and they will be here in just a few more days.

I'm using stainless steel blasting shot because the balls don't fracture like glass beads do. The tiny balls initially come covered with oxide and need to be "worn in" on a practice surface. I use a big brick of stainless steel, because that works best to shine up the balls for use. And as you continue to use the medium it gets harder and polishes better.

Stainless steel bead blasting is a relatively new technology, so there's very little information to be found. I scoured the web and could only find one person selling the beads in small lots. The only other sellers are the manufacturers themselves... three in China and two in India, and their minimum order is 2,000 pounds!

The beads give a nice low micro shot peened lustered surface without dimensionally altering the pieces. If there is a scratch on the surface, it remains there and just gets polished, so I'm going to do some surface prep with fine emery cloth before blasting.

I'm just beginning to learn this as I go and am having lots of fun improving on my technique.

Two more tooter adaptor flanges will come off the CNC machine tomorrow. After I pick them up, they'll go off to the welder, and then I'll blast the manifolds. I'll post a pic of the practice blasted surface tomorrow.
