You know what's funny? I'm Not! There is another Yaris in my same aparment complex! How crazy is that! lol. Yaris' are really hot here in Reno. Since I go to both the community college and the University I usually see at least 2 in each parking lot. Crazy.

Anyway, I got my little manual hatchback pretty much fully loaded with gap coverage taxes, fees, ect for about $16600 OTD. I feel like I got a good deal because I paid less than MSRP. And they are worth MSRP.

I bought a 2007 Yaris sedan (silver) over Labor Day weekend. Base model plus automatic transmission. $13,871 before taxes and fees. Is that a good price? Everyone's figures seem soooooooooo low. How do you buy a car for 11k? Are hatchbacks that much cheaper? MSRP was $14384 at another dealership. Toyota website said $14,230. My dealer claimed his invoice was $13,903. Too many discrepencies....What do you all think?

you feel bad for a car salesman? or a car dealership with potentially millions of dollars in inventory
true, having a new car is a luxury, not a necessity and you should pay for everything that goes along with it, but that doesn't mean you should just give away money.

I got a similar deal and felt ripped off but after seeing how much many people paid for their cars, like someone in this thread paid $16,000 for a liftback, I feel better. I paid $15,000 OTD for a silver sedan with automatic transmission, convenience package, and floormats. Also got 0% APR.

Remember all that stuff you have to pay for regardless if you buy new or used. TAXES, plates, title, document fees.

That sticker price seems low compared to the 1500.00 of crap you have to do in logistics. I elected the 1450.00 additional for an extended warranty as I plan to put at least 100K on this thing, which will happen in like 3.5 years. Did not get suckered in as I am rolling the dice twice. Coming up on running out on the Carmy warrnanty and went for the big one on the Yaris. We shall see which one wins. Easier to run with it wrapped up in the loan.

I didn't buy any of the extras with the finance managers either.
What's OTD mean? After all the fees over the price for the car?

If you 12,200 for the price of the car then you did pretty good. I got my "used" LB auto with the convenience package for 12,000 before fees, and and a touch over 14,000 after fees (including taxes, title, NJ registration, and "certified platinum warranty"). Did yours have any mileage on it? Mine had 7k.

Also, they were asking 14,200 before "OTD." I told them I'd take it for 12 and they said OK.

What was your financing rate? Mine is 9.9%. (Before anyone gasps and explains that I got ripped, my credit is abysmal, and that was the best rate I got.)

To whoever said that they are all "crooks": that wasn't my experience at all. My local dealers were very helpful, and took the time to fully explain everything I was signing and every fee involved—which was good, since this is my first car bought through a dealer and I had no clue what I was doing, or what to expect.

yeah 0% APR was from Toyota of Manhattan. They tried to charge me at least 6%, but I wasn't having that. I figure if they can give you 0% APR during a special promotion/sale, why can't I get that any time. Clearly they just make up the interest rates. There was a catch, I had to put $7000 down.

OTD is out the door... as you described, it includes all taxes, fees, registration, etc.

my dealership was full of crooks. i've been to many dealerships across the country and never had such a bad experience. thank god I didn't get suckered into an extended warranty so they could screw me for several more years. plus i do like the toyota quality and brand, so I doubt I'll need to go back to the dealership for anything.

New Yaris

We're picking up our new 2007 Toyota Yaris CE Sedan tonight.

We got Flint Mica, Auto Transmission, Power Package, Side Airbags and Fog Lamps.

I got it for 200 under "invoice". I put that in quotes because I'm not sure how truthful they are with invoice vs. MSRP.

The price of the car was 15190.60. Am I getting ripped off?

Very wrong thinking here....the mark up may be $600 but what you don't know is that there are many factory incentives paid to the dealers...my friend works at a dealership in Orange County, and so believe me, the mark up is MUCH MORE then $600...even under MSPR, they often make a lot more $$ then you might think...often volumne discounts come into play too....they are all crooks....

And why is the salesmen's family my concern...everybody knows that they are salemen because they F'd off back in high school or didn't go to college...its a job for dum asses, man....you worry about your family and let him worry about his ;-)

you should've waited for Thanksgiving sale or any National holiday.
I got the power package and Longo Toyota asked for $15400,
but i ended up paying only $11200.. thanks to Memorial day sale..!

I agree, I talked to alot of dealers, thinking I could work them against each other to get the best deal, but all I got from all of them was that there is only 600$ markup (as was mentioned) so very little wiggle room, I agree you don't feel like you get a deal, but the car is well worth it, unlike the suv's with thousands in markup, and you still get screwed! I love my Yaris!

I bought a 2008 liftback yesterday for $12,500, out the door with the tax and registration was $13,450 in Miami, FL, no dealer fees. I have a Bayou Blue, manual transmission with the convenience package, they threw in the mats. I had to wait 5 hours to get it as they were sold out and they went to another dealer. Dealer told me they are selling the LB's as fast as they are arriving. They did have some 07 sedans on the lot. I noticed the average mpg estimate was down from the 07 model.
