I have the same exact problem with my stock armrest. So these aftermarket ones don't get in the way?

I have an auto tranny so I can't say for sure about the manual shifting being hampered, but when I use my shifter my arm rest is no where near being in the way. I don't have to reach around it or over it. Even using the parking brake it's not in the way.
