And why wait for the micro-v ribs to develope a glazed surface that doesn't grip too well, because of the slipping at start up?

take a pair of scissors and cut the belt, take out the belt, oil up ur pullies and then thats it, the noise should be gone =)

cut your exhaust off so that it is loud enough to cut out the sound

and take off your wheels and tires and sell them because the car won't be needing them with a blown motor...or better yet, keep the belt where it's at; don't cut it off and throw it away.
