Readily available. They are used in everything from the automated toll tags to ID badges to anti-theft devices in stores. The tags are typically very inexpensive (under $1 for passive tags). Readers can range from as cheap as $25 to $3000+.
Radioshack actually sells a development kit for $49 that includes a reader and two button tags. |
