black felt would have been a good idea. i didn't even think about that when i made mine. i went to an upholstery shop and got actual auto fabric. i feel like a dumbass now haha

stay with the vinyl. Carpet is a bitch to clean.... gets stuff in it and won't ever let go... its like velcro.

the first box i made i bought the auto stuff. and paid a bunch for it . the felt was much cheaper and has holds up great.

the fabric on my box now is actually a thin fleece. but when i make boxes now i use the felt. If i ever redo my box it would be in the felt for sure
