I have the 3 door 5 speed and I had no problem getting used to the gauge position as we had previously had a first gen Scion XB. I think the Yaris dash layout is better than the older Scion and now I find regular dash gauges to be odd and uncomfortable.
You might find the rear of the Yaris to be lighter than what you are used to, but you quickly adjust. Some people coming from larger vehicles had trouble with the light clutch feel and limited travel, but it was never a problem for me. If you remember old floor mounted dimmer switches, you will not have too much trouble. Spend a full Saturday morning going through the car when you get it. There are storage pockets and cup holders everywhere. One in the lower dash is pretty well hidden and some people don't find it for a month or more. Mine is very basic and I like it that way. The only option I feel that I missed out on is a split folding rear seat. Service is straight forward, and you will be surprised at how much stuff you can fit into the 3 door. |
