Fog light question

I was wondering, can the stock foglights stay on, when using the the Hi beams? Is their a way I can have them on when the headlights are off? I ask this question because to day I will be doing a retrofit on the headlights and putting the halo wires to the parking light, it would look better to have the fogs on with the halos. My problem is since my car came with the stock fogs the wires dont allow you to run with them on, only when you turn on the headlights. Wondering can I splice the wires to the parking lights to have it functioning, plus the fogs are HID so I dont want to over charge the wires, can anyone help me with this pickle? Holla at me please.

If you have the OEM ones where you have the fog light switch as part of the headlight stalk then do the following to allow them to come one with either the high or low beams:

Take the wire that is in pin 4 of the headlight stalk (it will be orange, beige or white, depending on year and if you have DRLs) and cut it (leave yourself some room on either side of the cut to be able to work with the wire.

Take the harness side of the cut wire and cap it off.

Take the connector side of the wire and tap it to the white wire in pin 13.

Are you still using the projector fogs? If you are, remove the factory foglight harness and use the one that comes with the kit. You should be able to turn them on/off whenever you want.

The connector pictured above is under the lower steering column cover on the left side, right at the base of the headlight switch.

Yes - Instead of of connecting the wire from pin 4 to pin 13, connect it to pin 11 (which is a white wire with a black stripe). Then, it will turn on with or without the headlights.

Pin 13 is the feed to the relay coil for the taillights. It gets switched to ground when the headlight stalk is in any mode except off.

Yes. To make it easier for tapping the wires together (so you are tapping same sized wires together), connect the wire from pin 4 to pin 7 (the smaller white wire with a black stripe, 3rd from the right in the picture above).

Yes. But, with this wiring change you will be able to turn on the fogs without turning on the headlights.

Alright, I tried that option, and the HID was making noise, and the plug wasnt plug in so I put back the wire the way it was, maybe I connected the wrong wire, but you said the the third wire to the right (white with a black line), I heard that noise and just put back the wire. If you have a option that I can run with holla, and if possible with a pic of the harness with plug and the right wire to use. Please hit me up when you can thanxs.

The plug definitely needs to be plugged in, other wise things are floating, and that might be why your HIDs were clicking. the connection point is the 3rd from the right.

So should I disconnect the HID from the fogs, try what you wrote again when finished then connect them again? And yeah they were clicking, I was worried about that, and put the wires back the way they were. Holla at me CT.
