Solved! Since the 2012 I bought from Garm (model t1817) is a Pioneer, I used the info in the below link and transposed it to this model to add a normal USB jack on the back. Problem solved.
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/audio-...installed.html Even though the USB connector on the back isn't of quite the same type, the connections on the USB daughter board inside the radio are labeled the same as in that write-up, so I wired up the end from a short USB extender I had and VOILA! USB port. So I can install my own USB port somewhere and run the cable to that port. As for the AUX, I should be able to use my existing connector from the OEM AUX jack I would think. Thoughts? (I'll try to make time this weekend to do my own DIY for this model since the board is different from the one in the above write-up) |
