Exhaust Tip Liftback
Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to hold myself until the next paycheck, so that I can get a shortshift kit. But I can't hold it anymore ... I got to get myself an exhaust tip and I'm afraid I might get the wrong one or one which it's too loud. I did read and searched a couple of old threads, but the links no longer work.So can anyone recommend a tip for around $10-$20 that ins't "too" loud. Why spend so little? I do plan on getting an Megan or Nitto axle-back exhaust in the future. |

if all you are looking to get is a tip then it is all up to you on what you like the looks of because it will not change anything about the exhaust except what it looks like from the back

You're not going to make any more noise. Might change what your exhaust sounds like, but it's not going to get any louder.
Just drop by your local Walmart/Pep Boys/NAPA/AutoZone/etc. and you're bound to find one for less than $15.

Interesing- I like the chrome tips too and wondered if they would be OK. I had one on my old Honda and they do look nice. Just wonder if it will mess up my Toyota warranty though?

Looks good!
![]() Only suggestion I have it to tuck it back a little further on the pipe so it doesn't stick out as much. Maybe it's the angle that the photo was taken at, but it looks like it's really poking out. Kinda think this would look good: See how the tip is lined up with the bumper a little bit more? Or maybe you like it poking out, and well, if you like it looking like that then that's all good too!

![]() Now that you are here I should ask (I know I should search this first). Next week I hope to purchase either a short shifter or sway bar, I'll have around $100 in my budget, have any recommendations that are in Micro Image? |

Our short shift kit is less than $100, a sway bar isn't. Just making sure - you do have manual, yes?

From what I read the short shift kit only changes the feel of the shifter. While some people like this, I think the sway bar would be better for your money. The sway bar, if you like cornering, would be the best for your money. Although it is a few more dollars than what you have to spend at the moment.
On a side note, I do not have a short shifter because of the articles I read. Someone with a more personal experience may disagree. |

. According to tk's post a short shifter makes the car shifting feel more expensive. But that was the NST short shifter which also engages 30% faster, I believe, and it's out of stock. Now I'm back to rethinking on where to spend my hard earned money. I've heard so much more and good feedback about sway bars. But I also wanted to add an afe air intake, which is around the same price of the sway bar. Let me add to that, that I also got to sit in a Yaris with a swaybar. Now I have to do some research.

Yep, that's the same tip I have. Huge improvement looks-wise over the stock exhaust pipe...
