I am not sure if other compressors from other Toyotas would fit the four mounting points of the Yaris engine. Also, many of the larger Toyotas use 6 rib belt pulleys, as opposed to the 4 rib of the Yaris.
i dont know a thing about our Yaris' compressors, but if your mechanic can transplant a compressor "hub" for a non-Yaris compressor (to fit the 4-rib belt) as well as a bracket for the Yaris' mounting points, then i'll say rotary compressors are definitely the better-cooling car compressors (from what i've heard)
