When I got my 08 hatch the rear wiper was very worn so I replaced it with an aftermarket blade, Trico 12-A. It made poor contact at the outer edges of the blade and I did some research online and came up with nothing.

I eventually got a good look at things and found that at one point the assembly actually bumps into another part of the assembly keeping it from pivoting enough to make good contact with the glass.

I ended up filing or dremeling a small notch in one part of the plastic to allow clearance and all is good. I guess the aftermarket blade is not an exact copy of the Toyota part and wished I had kept the old blade and just used a refill. Getting a Toyota part or modifying the aftermarket one should fix the problem.

The red line in the photo is the "filed down" notch. Probably does not need to be quite so wide.
