No AM radio signal on two aftermarket HUs?

I had a general question regarding antennas and radio. I have 2014 Toyota Yaris LE and the AM/FM signal is awful. I had it to taken to Toyota and they said there was nothing wrong. Any suggestions? They said there was nothing wrong because there is decent signal in the city for them to tap into. My father owns a 2006 Dodge Dakota and I can tune in my usual radio station from home to work no problem and my Yaris is fuzzy and terrible until I reach the city limits so there is definitely something wrong. It sounds like your signal amplifier isn't working. To check that it's getting 12V to it, pull the radio out and check that the all black lead in the middle of the blue plug on the Yaris harness is getting 12V fed to it. The antenna is part of the rear window and without amplification the signal will be poor. When working properly, the Yaris antenna + amplifier gives a better radio signal than any other car I've seen.
