It sounds like your signal amplifier isn't working. To check that it's getting 12V to it, pull the radio out and check that the all black lead in the middle of the blue plug on the Yaris harness is getting 12V fed to it. The antenna is part of the rear window and without amplification the signal will be poor. When working properly, the Yaris antenna + amplifier gives a better radio signal than any other car I've seen.
