Just waxed etc my ' 09 Yaris...

It's one of two colors (the other is yellow) introduced in '09 for the hatchbacks, and dropped after '11. Both are extremely rare. I've only ever seen one or two of each in person.

Having been a (graphics) printer. I do know that red is one of the most expensive pigments . Perhaps that is why they dropped "carmine" ?)

It can't be that people did not like it as the most frequent comment I get about my yaris is that they love the color.

However, personally, I can understand why they discontinued yellow.
I hate yellow on any car.
