Considering how bad most roads seem to be today (who needs infrastructure, after all), I don't think I would want to drive/ride on anything lower-profile that XXX/50 series tires - which is what the Yaris happens to need with 16" wheels to maintain factory specifications for speedometer accuracy, etc. 16" wheels are also the perfect look with the Yaris using the factory suspension setup. If you don't mind throwing the speedometer off a wee-bit (~3 MPH I think), you could even run XXX/55 series tires with 16" for a better ride & less fender gap. I'm thinking about doing this with my first tire replacement in about a year. The 16" wheels on the SE could have used a tasteful 0.75" more factory drop, instead of what it was given as default (probably the same as the L/LE has).

I don't think that 17-18" wheels looks right/good on the Yaris without lowering springs (~1.5" drop) - assuming you can even stand riding on those lower-profile tires.

meant like you should run x6 or x7 wide rims to get a decent contact patch
