rubber would be quieter...however may eventually split and break up. Aluminum would be the way to go or just a taller rear spring. Up front just make a spacer that goes on top of the strut. Many Subaru kits are like that simple strut spacers. Anything crazy you will need to start re-engineering geometry angles
