none of my local dealers have a light or bright colored 2018 SE i could live with white/ silver/ red or blue ... no grey/ black or 2 tone one dealer misrepresented that they had a grey car (just to look at) but when i got there they couldnt produce it i have yet to actually see in person a 2018 SE |

If I was forced to buy a 2018 refresh-version Yaris, I would have to go with a black SE, if anything. That is the only color that blends/hides some of the new design elements enough to make me accept them (bulging front nose (lol) coupled with expanded front maw, rear plastic bumper inserts and the new goofy projector headlight design). I would have to black-out those stupid upside-down chrome fog-light fangs as well. Heck, I would probably like my current Yaris better in black as well, minus the practical concerns of having a black car in hellhole, AZ.

^^^ Yup.
But, I can't imagine choosing a colour specifically to hide/camouflage a cars hideous design characteristics... and there are so many! |

I like the 2018 update and would probably pick up a 3dr LE but there just aren’t that many 2018 Yaris in the Bay Area! Expanding my search to the so cal area helped. I guess it could be a nice road trip back

It's always interesting how Canadian reviews/impressions of the Yaris (hatch) are always so different than reviews of the same basic car in the USA.

or where the switch knock outs are also no powerfolding mirrors button edit: also those vents are from the corolla MAYBE 2019 >:C then i will be able to look at the diagram and go OH, this is way beyond my technical expertise. edit those vents are from the corolla as is alot of things, still no JDM square hazard lights or fold down 2 din with dvd touch screen and nav though which are from the aqua. ALSO STILL NO DIGITAL AC controls yet in the LHD versions for europe there is ONE COME ON also still no SKYVIEW glass roof :C or hybrid. still no jersey mesh material or checkered material that both AUS and europe got with the redesign no black interior trims like the hybrid concept got or two tone. in europe no 2zrfe edition , maybe i need to join toyotas design team. still no double cubbie like they get in japan from the aqua maybe like 2022 they will finally get there when japan has like V8 powered hover yarises. edit two: THEY ADDED A FLIP LID TO THE supposed "ashtray" :V ?!!?!?!? |

I have no intention/interest of picking up another car until at least the end of 2020. Another current-gen Yaris SE (in Black) is still on my short list of potential vehicles (though I would have to go out-of-state again to get one, like I had to in 2015 also). I am interested in test driving & checking out the new, upcoming TNGA Corolla/Auris hatchback model (end of 2018), as well as the upcoming TNGA Corolla sedan (end of 2019) & upcoming TNGA Yaris hatch (end of 2020, if it hasn't been discontinued in U.S. by then ). If none of those do it for me, then I will happily stick with the classic, bulletproof tech Yaris and call it a day. Can't say I am a fan of all the garbage tech-bloat they are cramming into cars now, that I personally have zero use for. It really makes me appreciate my current car all the more. I like the comparison shot. The 2018 does look more modern and stylized. The close up of the new "mouth" is pretty cool. I didn't know it had a cool hexagonal pattern. Honestly, I think both cars look great though! |
