The only tricky part is getting the bumper cover off without damaging the clips between the headlights and the wheel well. There's three clips along that seam and very little clearance to get anything in there to release them. I've had to replace the plastic clip on both sides and the bumper cover side of that joint is pretty well worn out. The bumper cover has been off dozens of times over the years though, so once or twice isn't a problem.
The service manual recommends a flat head screwdriver with masking tape wrapped around the head (to prevent scratching) to pry/release it. I also plan on replacing most of the plastic quick fasteners at the top whenever I have to get in there because they deteriorate and tend to fall apart when you remove them. |
