you need an extremely high offset for these cars. i would think that a 215mm tire would fit at +50mm offset and a 205mm tire should fit at a +45mm offset. The width of the wheel itself doesn't matter too much. It really matters what's mounted on it. You could technically stretch some 215's onto a 9"inch wheel, but there's no point.. you may as well just run an 8" wheel. I personally plan on buying just a 16x7 for summer next year with 205mm tires.

we're running a 7" +25mm now with a 205 in the rear and it fits nicely. (coilovers). I guess ultimately I'll need to find some lower offset wheels to really "push" the limits of what "fits" and then decide from there. too bad my 17x10s are drilled for 5x114 and 5x100

According to KS-Auto in Japan, their display car has 18"x9" +48offset wheels that sit quite nicely.
But, to me, looks like it'll rub like crazy.

There definitely must be some creative wheel well modifications there. Those are huge.

This is OT but why put in wheels that wide? It'll ruin the steering feel and feedback as well as the overall balance of the car. Sure you'll gain loads of grip and absolute braking power is improved, but unless you drive the nuts off the car every single time, the loss of good feel as well as strain and other parts (steering gear etc.) might not be worth it.
Having said that, I am curious as to how wide you can go on the Yaris. |

This thread has me a little worried. I just purchased some 18x7.5 rims with a 36mm offset. Should I be worried about them protruding from the fenders in the front of my 07 Yaris?

Thanks guys. I just canceled my order for the 18s. I think I found some that I'm going to go with: 17x7 with an offset of 45. Those should work if I go with 205 tires , right?

Yes.
depending on your suspension and tire choice there is a very good chance you'll rub nearly everywhere. |

depends on the offset.
+43 or so you should be fine. +35 you run the risk of rubbing. |

may need to add a little camber if you do rub. |
