In need of help with fixing dash

I have attached pictures of my dash. It has turned a gray color and I can't figure out how to fix it. If I am unable to fix it what are the part numbers? As shown in the pictures the black piece has changed color and also the plastic piece where the gas and speed is shown has changed color has well. If anyone is able to help me fix this or give me the part numbers please let me know. Thanks.

The cluster looks like it has condensation.. and then the flat piece looks like it's got some sort of discolouration.. I'm betting from the condensation. I'd say check your HVAC system?

That happens with certain cleaners, like Armor All. Mine did it as well. I used some Mothers Plastic Polish on a dry terry cloth rag and it came right off. Did a second coat just to be sure.

Probably a lot cheaper than ordering a new cluster lens.

yeah the best thing to use is lemon Pledge instead of crap like armor all believe it or not!

theres even pics floating around somewhere on yw of a flyer from toyota saying to use pledge to better preserve dash pieces!

I'm gonna try using lemon Pledge to see if it comes off. I'm glad I already got some. Thanks for the help. I will let you know if it works for me. Can I use Pledge on the lens too?

From what I was told, you can use Pledge on the lense. You've got nothing to lose at this point, so try it and tell us how it comes out.

oh no im sorry, i meant pledge would have been a better thing to use from the start... it probably wont remove that stain...

if i had the splotch problem in the second picture, i'd try the Rit Dye process to see if that would work.. but thats up to you!

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16160

it looks like on the lense that its condensation on the inside of it. so if you can remove the dash piece and get behind the lense, maybe you just have to wipe the inside of the lense with mildew remover.

good luck! sorry for the confusion

It isn't condensation, though it looks like it. It'd have to be a dousing on a dashboard that had largely been taken apart to get enough water to form condensation under the gauge cluster, to the point where you'd also see electrical problems from getting such a quantity of liquid on the cluster and the OP hasn't mentioned that.

I can almost guarantee it was Armor All or something similar with shine additives that aren't suppose to come in contact with clear plastic. That's why they tell you not to get Armor All on your windows. If you scratch at it with your nail, you should be able to feel the difference between the cloudy part of the cluster, and the unaffected clear part near the top. A plastic polish and some elbow grease should get it off just fine; however, the longer you wait, the harder it will be to get it off.
