Never changed the brake shoes yet, but that will help with the pads. |

There are numerous ways to "bleed brakes". You can do a google search and come up with them. Having just done mine I used them all, from pump in (Motive) to pump out (MityVac). The best results (for me) were obtained using the old fashioned 2 person method. Patience is a key word during this procedure.

I founf best results using a friend to help bleed the brakes as well. You might use a little more fluid, but it's worth the results.

Don't bleed them unless you somehow open the system...

You need to open the system to change out the rear shoes, and cracking the bleeders on the front makes dropping in new pads much easier. I was changing the fluid out also, so it just made the whole operation much easier.
I didn't NEED to change pads and shoes, but wanted to when I took the car to the track. The front pads looked brand new after 35,XXX miles, and the rear shoes looked pretty much untouched too. As for changing out the rear shoes, the online manual that's sticky'ed above has the step-by-step, and it's relatively easy. The hard part is getting the main spring on and off. Other than that it's pretty straight forward. It took me an hour to do one side, and about 20 min. to do the other (first time I'd ever changed out drum shoes). |

Hey guys, what are you guys using as replacements? OEM from the dealor? Any aftermarket sources? I'm about due. At 25k, the right is squeaking. When I take the wheels off to inspect, I want to be able to do them if I see that I'll need to.
