Please Help: Amp Remote Wire
Hi, I'm just in the middle of wiring up an amp to my standard head unit. Does anyone know which wire I should connect the remote wire from my amplifier to so that it turns on with the ignition. I connected it to the +12v Ignition wire (Grey) but my radio and amp both stay on even with the ignition off.
There is also a +12 Volt Battery Wire (Blue w/yellow stripe) Could this possibly be the wire that I need to use. Thanks in advance |

I thought most head units had a pretty clearly marked remote jack in the back.. All of mine did. But if the radio stays on too, I don't think its the remote wire causing your issues?? I thought that was just to turn the amp on/off with the head unit.
Did you check this thread to make sure you did the wiring harness right? http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10195 |

Hi, I'm still struggling with this. I have attached a couple of pictures from the back of the Yaris head unit. The colours do not match to the reference provided on this site.
Can anyone shed any light on this. Basically I'm trying to identify the front left and right speaker wires so I can connect my high to low phono connectors for my amp and the remote wire. I do not have a black wire coming out of terminal 8 to use as a remote wire. I tried disconnecting what i thought was a speaker wire from the back of the head unit to identify the left and right but everytime I tried doing this the head unit does not turn on - is this normal? Anyway has anyone seen a wiring harness like mine at the back of their head unit? Thanks in advance for your help. |

What year is your Yaris, and what does the front of your HU look like?

Thanks for your reply. This is now sorted, I was looking at the wrong wiring harness - I was looking at the one behind the top unit where the radio controls are as apposed to the CD player harness.
