Fog Issue

Hey YW just need some help with my fog lights. I've had eBay fogs for quite some time but they just stopped working recently. They do not illuminate at all.

I did some diagnosis and I tested the power source and it is giving power and the fuse is not blown. Using my voltimeter I checked the power wire coming out from the relay and that wire is not giving any power. So going into the relay there is power but coming out from the relay there is no power. Does this sound like i blew the relay?

Yep...sounds like the the relay. You can pick one up from Wal-Mart, Autozone etc., for about $5. Pick up some female spade connectors while you're there...as you'll need them for the new relay's 4 connections.

I think I have some of those plug-and-play ebay relays laying around. If you can wait a few days on the delivery you can have one.

Did you guys use one of those black plastic aftermarket relays? I went the way of using the OEM Toyota part that plugs right into the cars relay panel. This way the dash light for the fogs comes on too. The OEM relay is only like $15 on Ebay. Hope you get back and running soon...

I sure hope and pray we have the similar problem hehe, because I checked the fuse box and all seem ok I haven't had the car diagnosed but I have a feeling this is the problem.

I did and it's been working fine for the last 2+ years. Sounds like his was just a dud.

The fuse again not shorted and the blue wire coming from the fuse box is connected to the power source and that power source registers 12.9v. The wire then runs into the loom and the loom spreads into 4 wires connecting to the relay. One of the red wires going in also registers 12.9v. The red wire coming out from the loom, next to the blue power wire, provides the power to the loom that spreads to the two housings. That red wire registers 0.00v.

Sorry but this may sound noob lol

Did you turn the switch for the fog lights on to trigger the relay, you could be measuring an open circuit which gives the 0 reading.
