Car has mechanical tappet with a clearance so you will ALWAYS have valve noise. Car also has loud injetors - my wifes camry 2azfe was brought in for valve adjustment and it was just noisy injector. Let valvetrain wear in, its ALWAYS better noisy than tight. Just a note: cars will tend to stick valves during break in and you will get some noise until it clears. Please Leave the break in oil in for at least 2500mi - this oil has extra wear agents that your replacement oil will not have. It is great oil and should NOT be changed soon by worry wort. We have a inexpensive solid tappet cam and it need proper wear in. Your special break in filter will trap most all nasty wear items. Break -in runs about 15K miles if you look at UOA then wear tapers off to nothing. Dont worry this is not Kia or Mazda engine - it is quality motor with low oil consumption.

in my opinion the plastic intake manifold is the main reason for hearing the noises of the otto cycle at work, if it was a solid cast piece it would be a much quieter engine.

Hey, Plastic is Fantastic. less heat soak, smooth and dimensionally accurate runner cross section. This is an all AL motor - they are a bit noisier. The change to MOTUL 8100 eco-nergy AECA A5 made ALL the difference in the world. You will stop worrying about oil after using this stuff ( in the vinter). It is very superior on the road.
