Oil Change Help Filter Stuck

Thanks everybody for your quick responses. I was working on it this morning and took a break until just now. I'm thinking of a couple options

A 64mm cap wrench (about $10 at any auto part store) definitely breaks it loose quickly. Just be sure you got the drain pan directly underneath because it will spill a little as you loosen it. It'll spill more if it drops.

This is one option I'm thinking of... I'm sure it would come in handy in the future and I'm looking at a couple that would match the ridges on the firestone filter

This is the other thing.... Maybe for just this one I'll have my local shop do it. My car used to be a rental so I have no idea what they may have done, probably not oiled the seal, maybe they tightened it way too much. After I get the initial change I should be able to get it off next time (hopefully)

What does everybody use for filters, I'm thinking of Wix seems like pretty good for the price.

I honestly assumed all filters had the same ridges to fit its' matching-sized cap wrench. If that's not true then I would opt for the clamp wrench instead just in case.

Yeah I think they are different.. The set that I was looking at should be pictured below. The one that looks like it would fit mine is the one at the 9' o clock position.

Yeah I have this mechanic that is pretty good down the street, they looked over my car before I bought it and pointed out a couple things (air filter + radiator replacement) that I needed to get fixed before I bought the car. So from what I can tell they are a pretty good place, I'm debating having them do it so I don't make a mess of things but make sure to ask them not to ratchet it on too tight. I've only put about 2,000 miles on the Yaris since I bought it but I'd rather err on the side of caution with replacing the oil because they didn't have a record of when it was changed. The oil does look pretty clean, still a light-amber color but for the price I figure why not get it done.

Go pay $20 for a cheap oil change then once you get home change the oil a filter to your preferred products..
