I bet I could get some cheap aluminum washers from the hardware store. I guess I will have to measure the diameter of the thread next time.

To answer your question 12.mm (1/2") replaced my drain plug
with a alloy one with a magnet in it

The TOY washer for the older 2azFE is better being rubberized and good for 4-6 uses if you dont WAIL on it torques wize. - and only a masochist would pay a buck for a 2 cent washer. I would not use Al here though due to possibility it would corrode OFFF the car in the winter, maybe instead a solder tinned Cu washer. That being said I DID spend a buck on this 5c washer at the dealer 'cause I was TOO LAZY to walk into the hardware store and look for copper washers ... So I am Lazy but NOT a masochist

On a related subject, Though they are good filters DONT use thepurolator filter 'cause the nipple on the filter mount is too short and you will engage less than 2 threads - which is recipe for disaster.

Any one else have short nipple or is it just our car(08 3dr 1.5L 5 spd)

I did not know that about the purolators. the toyota denso filters spin quite a few times before the rubber is seated.

Yes the Densos spin a few times, you prob noticed how the threaded hole is pretty much flush to the top edge.
