What did you use to cut your bumpstop?
I'm getting into installing lowered springs, but I've read that I may have to cut my bumpstop. Do I need a power saw to cut that shyt? o.o And does anyone here ride without cut bumpstops (on lowered springs) without a problem on bumps? I'm still not even sure if I should cut them....

No it's pretty much hardened rubber. You can use any hand sway with small teeth.

If bottoming out doesn't have a big impact on the life span of my shocks, I don't think I would cut them.

I just installed TRD lowering spring on my car, I just cut the very bottom section off my bump stops, maybe 1/2" at the most. I used a 32 tooth hacksaw and just tried to cut as straight as possible. Running without bump stops can cause major internal damage to shocks/struts, so cutting them to allow just enough travel, will save your shocks!

I'm running H+R springs (1.5" drop) and didn't cut mine at all. no bottoming out in about 6 months so far.

Lowered on NF210s, and didn't cut them... 2,684 miles later and I've yet to hit the bump stop at all.

Just to clarify my reason for cutting my stops! Since my car is used for Auto-X and some Track Days, I will be more likely to cycle my suspension throughout it's full range of motion. A DD which is driven mostly on the open rode, will be less likely to encounter FIA curbing and high speed transitions, that we see regularly!!

i just used my handy-dandy pocket knife! also, i followed the instructions on the DIY here for the tanabe df210 spring install(any type of spring should work with this DIY). i cut the bumpstops because when i read the reasons they made sense to me.

I cut them when I had my Tien S-techs on but had a few HARD bottom-outs entering/exiting parking lots. I went back to full factory stock with the MI springs and haven't had any strange behavior at the track yet.
