Rear disc brake conversion?

and the rear beam axle wont bolt up to an older Yaris say MK2 mount points are different if you can get your hands on a set of caliper carriers you are set with the 2012 SE parts

edit: the e-brake lines are different length as well

Jerkratt, Im unable to see that image you shared.

So are you saying that a 2012 (or 2014, like mine) SE axle beam wont fit on the same year LE axle beam?

Moreover, this picture you shared you said is a conversion, so how/where can I get it?

The only way to make this work would be to get the rear torsion beam, caliper, and e brake cables from a wrecked mk 3 SE Yaris. Since there are very few wrecked mk 3 SE trim Yaris around your odds of finding one may not be so good. Buying these parts new is not really an option since it would be very expensive for the marginal performance boost. Since the Yaris is a very light car and 80% of the braking force comes from the front brakes I feel that rear disc's on the Yaris are more of an aesthetic upgrade. Also rear drums often require no maintenance and can typically last 120K before needing replacement.

You're entirely not wrong. My desire is honestly pure aesthetic. The squeaking is because it's cold outside it's not THAT big a deal.

Yea I was just wondering if there's a reasonable kit out there, I guess not.

I hate to pull a thread necro and be a jerk, but what evidence do you have to support this? There's a growing number of axles available on the parts interchange system and I've always been curious if this would work. There's a pretty limited number of search results for the topic both here and on the web, none of which confirmed or denied the fitment.

Yariseggvvti started a thread that got derailed into peoples' personal mileage with rear brake shoes, no results.

Brushforhire started a thread that included lots of good technical details and pictures of donor candidates but he crashed his car and the thread kind of died.

Cause I have a JDM rear beam axle. And a 08 yaris.. 😂 But you can piece together a setup with usdm toyota parts from other cars.
