Door Lock Beep?

I believe the first year where you saw "immobilized" Yaris' in Canada was in 2008. I have an RS model here in Canada and the immobilizer was not an option in 2007.

You can tell if you have an immobilized car as your ignition will have a plastic black ring around it if you have it, and a silver ignition with NO plastic ring if you have a normal vehicle.

That is of course if you have the original keys. If you don't who knows what you will have. If you are like me and made a habit of losing keys, you will have random keys absolutely everywhere and carry 2 or 3 around with you at all times.

It is NOT really about the keys, but rather if your car is so equipped.

I believe this can be programmed in the ECU's theft deterrant options. It clearly shows in the manual that this is an option that can be programmed with a smart meter. It CAN beep, now if only someone would writeup about how to do that?

Canadian Yaris does not come with the security system the other models have. Even the ones with immobilize, so it will not beep. I'm fine with that.

My Toyota Echo had the RS3200 security system option installed and it beeps locking and unlocking the doors.
